History
The Ellie Fund was founded in memory of Eleanor “Ellie” Popkin, who passed away in 1987 at the age of 49 after a courageous 15+ year battle with breast cancer. Each year, the organization hosts the Red Carpet Gala to raise funds to provide free of charge support services for breast cancer patients undergoing treatment.
Services
Ellie Fund services are delivered to patients on a monthly basis, for up to six months depending on their diagnosis. Services are personalized to meet the specific needs of a patient and the family. Services include:
- Grocery assistance
- Healthy delivered meals
- Transportation to/from treatment
- Childcare reimbursement
- Housekeeping
- Integrative therapies
- Co-assistance
